Pictured above are some of the pastors who attended a recent Passion Seminar in Abuja, the federal capital of Nigeria.

Over 25 different denominations under the umbrella body of the Pentecostal Fellowship (PFN) of Nigeria attended the Seminar.  They all came from Abuja Municipal and two local Government areas of Nasarawa state that shares a boundary with Abuja.

Ruth Veltkamp, in the purple dress, was a guest speaker at the Seminar.  She currently lives in Michigan, USA.  She had served in Northern Nigeria for over forty years as a missionary.  With her wealth of experience, she spoke on: “Forgiveness as God intended it; a tool for Muslim Evangelism in Northern Nigeria” and “Challenges of Muslim evangelism in Northern Nigeria”

Rev. Ibrahim’s topics included “Christianity and the global Islamic agenda”, “Holistic Discipleship of Muslim Background Believers” and “The History of Christian-Muslim relations and our salvation.”
The next training Seminar will be held in Zonkwa in early January, 2014.

Thanksgiving and a Call for Concern

Thank God for the success of the just concluded Seminar. The attendance of the Anglican Bishop of Zonkwa, Rt. Revd. J.W. Kwashi and of Kwoi, Rt. Revd. P.S. Zamani, was much appreciated.

It is concerning that, until now, virtually no instruction has been available to the christians in and around Zonkwa as to how they should learn to love their Muslim neighbours. The desperate need for educating Pastors, leaders and church congregations will now be addressed as more Passion for Converts Seminars and other meetings are held in the future..

Passion holds 2 day Seminar

After several planning meetings in Zonkwa, Passion held a first-of-its-kind Seminar on the 28th & 29th of August, 2013 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Cathedral, Zonkwa. The Seminar was attended by church leaders of almost every denomination in Zangon Kataf Local Government including the Bishops of Zonkwa and Kwoi Anglican Dioceses.

Topics presented included:
1) Forgiveness as God intended it: a tool for evangelism in Northern Nigeria.
2) Christian should love Muslims.
3) History of Christian–Muslim relation and faith building.
4) Holistic discipleship of Muslim background believers.
Thirteen Pastors/church leaders renewed their commitment to focus on Muslim mission.

The response to this initiative by Passion is very encouraging.  The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Zongon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state, Nigeria with the representatives of the various denominations in Zonkwa, the Local Government Headquarters of Zangon Kataf L.G.A. resolved that:

1) Seminar DVDs should be sent to all community leaders.
2) A separate seminar should be organized for all community leaders on the same topics.
3) Such seminars should be held twice a year in view of their significance.

Representatives of the leadership of the Pentecostal Churches Fellowship in Nigeria (PFN) Asoh, Abuja chapter attended the Seminar and also resolved that such a Seminar be held in Asoh, Abuja for all church leaders of the PFN on 27th and 28th September, 2013.
There will be a Guest speaker from the USA at the next Seminar.
